Spotlight on… Phyllis Thompson

Please tell us about a time in your life when God spoke to you most vividly and personally through the Bible. Which passage was it and what did it mean to you at the time?

‘The Lord GOD has given me the tongue of the learned, that I should know how to speak a word in season to him who is weary. He awakens me morning.’ Isaiah 50:4

This affirmed my sense of purpose as an educator and encourager with a passion and commitment to assist others in the achievement of their potential and sense of calling.

In recent years what has helped to keep the Bible fresh for you?

Its relevance and the counsel/wisdom I gain for my life.

What does your regular practice of Bible reading look like?

Daily reading in conjunction with UCB ‘Word for today’

What would you say to a Christian who is struggling to read the Bible?

Find a version that is appealing and a devotional that supports the reading and meditation.

What is your prayer for the Biblefresh initiative?

That it will bring about a fresh connection with God’s Word and Godly lifestyle.
