Thanks Go To…

Bex may be the project manager for The Big Bible Project, but, in the nature of new media, this is very much a crowdsourced-project. In making a ‘benefit’ out of the fact that there is little->no budget, the project has built upon contributions in terms of space, expertise, blog entries, comments… whether you’re someone who has had years of experience with The Bible, housegroups, online – there’s something you can contribute to help others engage more.

  • The people of the North-East who undertook the first ‘Big Read 2010’, especially the Bishop of Jarrow, and Pat Francis.
  • Pete Phillips, of CODEC, for the original notion of ‘taking it national’ and setting the challenge of doing something ‘Digital Age’ with a Lent Housegroup, for ongoing support, and for creating a number of videos. The rest of the CODEC team for their encouragement and support.
  • Premier Christian Media for offering office space, and support particularly from the marketing, web and PR teams, the video and audio production teams, and the staff for their encouragement as a whole.
  • The Methodist Church and Methodist Evangelicals Together for funding the majority of Bex’s post, and providing advice, support and ideas, including finding and arranging all the housegroup reflection materials.
  • The writers of the housegroup reflection materials: Ken Kingston, Steve Hucklesby, Sanya Strachan, Anna Drew, David Perry, Jenny Ellis, and Mike King.
  • 12Baskets for providing online space for the Big Bible/#bigread2011 materials (around 800+ downloads), including the daily newsletter, and for encouraging the sharing of creative resources amongst the Christian community.
  • SPCK for providing the original text, and being open to so many new ideas.
  • Pray As You Go for offering the daily reflection material related to Tom Wright’s book.
  • YouVersion for offering daily readings on the mobile phone.
  • ChatBible for offering theological discussions on Twitter, alongside the daily readings.
  • The Bible Society for early CODEC funding, and being the first to put forward funding for the project to continue.
  • Share Creative for creating a logo which has a much wider application than originally envisaged.
  • D2 Creative Services for their advice and patience in developing the forum.
  • The Methodist Research Development Fund for their support with the Mardi Gras/Fair Feast, and for contributing thoughts to the housegroup material.
  • John Twistleton, St Giles Church Horsted Keynes/regular presenter on Premier Radio , who kicked off the P-themes for the housegroups.
  • Koinonia Housegroup for offering practical suggestions for the housegroup, then working as ‘guinea-pigs’ with the material.
  • Hels Bels, Adam Brown for IT support, and Helen Demopoulos for transcription help.
  • KoreUK and Global Tolerance for original creative conversations.
  • All our interviewees, and those we have met at events (including MediaNet events) for their positivity and inspiration.
  • To all the supporters on Twitter (1191), Facebook (group (345), which we’re planning to move to page (17 so far)), YouTube (1923 views), Vimeo (nearly 5000 ‘loads’), the blog (nearly 13,000 ‘unique’ visitors, 8000 in the past month), etc.  and my personal ‘crowd’ for your encouragement… you know who you are!
