Creating a WordPress Account

By
drbexl
– June 4, 2011Posted in: Digidisciple

In order to become a #digidisciple, you will need to Register for a WordPress login for the Big Bible site. As I understand it, even if you have a WordPress login on another site, you have to register for this particular site… do let me know if I’m wrong in this!

Registering

Go to http://bigbible.org.uk/wp-admin/, and something similar to below should appear. Find the circled ‘Register’

The following screen will appear, into which you add your username (can’t be changed, and is visible to all), and your email address, before clicking ‘Register’

It’s happy when you get the following message:

Then look out for an email like this (and yes, I have already changed the password):

A page something like the below will appear, fill in your name, a website (if you have one), and some brief biographical details (e.g. it would be good to know a bit about who you are, and why you’re interested in what you are focusing upon for @bigbible, and how often you have committed to blog:

Also ensure that you change your password:

Please then contact me via bex.lewis[at]durham.ac.uk, or Tweet/Facebook me, etc., and I will give you contributor rights which will bring up a dashboard screen similar to:

Further blog posts to come about how to blog (although please be aware I’m happy for people to send me text, or audio/video to embed, and to upload it for people!)

    Ho Bex,

In order to become a #digidisciple, you will need to Register for a WordPress login for the Big Bible site. As I understand it, even if you have a WordPress login on another site, you have to register for this particular site… do let me know if I’m wrong in this!

From your wp-admin page choose “users” on the left. At the bottom of the page there is a section “Add User From Community”

It says “Type the e-mail address of another WordPress.com user to add them to your blog.”

You have my email address with this comment so you are welcome to try adding me to see if it works.
