SGM Lifewords urges UK Christians to join great Christmas give-away and pass on the Christmas story to a new generation
Bible charity SGM Lifewords is offering schools and youth-workers across the country a brand new resource, free of charge, to share the Christmas story with young teens. Latest research* shows only 7% of 18-24 year olds know the Christmas story.
SGM Lifewords’ Executive Director Danielle Welch says: “If you’re passionate about changing that statistic for this next generation, then we would love to help! We want to give away as many copies of this brand-new Christmas comic as possible. If you’re a youth worker, a parent, a schools worker, and you can give this to young people who may never have read the Bible before, we will freely equip you with as many copies of Journey Out of Darkness as you can use. Wherever there are young people this Christmas we want them to know the story of Jesus’ birth; we hope this comic will speak their language and help them to understand the love of God for themselves.”
The manga-styled 24-page comic tells the story of Jesus’ birth in the Bible’s own words, and is aimed at 10-14 year olds. SGM Lifewords’ Danielle Welch adds: “We hope Journey Out of Darkness will communicate that the Christmas story isn’t something you grow out of and leave behind. We pray that young people will read it and be intrigued enough to pick up a Bible and read on into the gospel story, discovering what happens when Jesus grows up.”
