Each day we will select an extract from the Narnia novels, The Screwtape Letters or Mere Christianity, combined with a Bible passage (not necessarily restricted to Luke’s gospel), something to think about, a prayer, and an action (usually from @40Acts).
We’d love it, if you’re blogging, that you draw attention to other resources online that we can also connect with.
C.S. Lewis, The Magician’s Nephew
“He thinks great folly, child,’ said Aslan. “This world is bursting with life for these few days because the song with which I called it into life still hangs in the air and rumbles in the ground. It will not be so for long. But I cannot tell that to this old sinner, and I cannot comfort him either; he has made himself unable to hear my voice. If I spoke to him, he would hear only growlings and roarings. Oh, Adam’s son, how cleverly you defend yourself against all that might do you good!”
Bible: John 8:47: http://bible.cc/john/8-47.htm
Think: What barriers have we put up that we are unable to hear God’s voice clearly?
Pray: We are thankful that you do choose to speak to us, and pray that we would learn to identify your voice/promptings ever more clearly.
