Fr Simon Rundell and the Blessed team – now a fixture at the Greenbelt Festival are running a new experiment at this year’s festival, enabling a broader worship experience by providing the opportunity to join in online via Twitter. The service will take place live at the festival at 2pm on Sunday 25th August, and, we hope, with hundreds of others participating around the world via Twitter. Take part wherever you are – in the Jesus Arms, your tent, at home on your sofa, on the bus…
To take part follow @tw_worship and use #gb40smw in your tweets, retweet us, share your responses to God’s word from 2pm on Sunday 26th August.
Read about how the idea came about here. This is similar to the services we have run together via Online Praise at Christmas and Easter. Priests will be available online for prayer support via Direct Messaging. Let’s all join together on twitter and worship God.
In addition to the twitter service Blessed is running 3 other events over Greenbelt – the main event of which will be the Big Bash, a eucharist with music provided by our favourite rock band Metanoia at 2pm on the Saturday. We are crowdsourcing the Bible reading for that service so another way to take part is to record yourself reading the passage and sending the file to us where it will be used in the service. Follow the instructions here.
Hope to see you either there at the festival or online via twitter!
This year’s Greenbelt hashtag is #gb40 – as it’s the 40th year of Greenbelt. The hashtag for the service is #gb40smw.
