Biblical LiteracyCODEC has undertaken studies which demonstrate that although 70% of those who self-designate as belonging to the Christian church own a Bible, only 18% of those had read the Bible that week. This has been largely attributed to the way that reading the Bible has been ‘professionalised’, individualised, and made less accessible. Biblical Literacy projects look at ways in which we can develop Bible engagement among a much wider readership. This section demonstrates research from Biblical Literacy surveys, The North Yorkshire Dales Biblical Literacy Project, and any other resources we feel will help. |

Bible OrganisationsThere are a number of Bible Organisations that exist, nationally and internationally. There are also a number of organisations, events and actions that can be defined as Biblically Inspired Social Action. Biblefresh is a one-year initiative encouraging a greater confidence and passion for Scripture across the Church, under which this project emerged, and which is promoting many Bible-focused events. |

The Bible OfflineThis area will link to significant Bible based projects, and promote other Biblically focused projects projects, with a particular interest in the way that these can be promoted using social media. We are in discussions with regards to working with Grow With the Bible, who have 15 years of experience of promoting individual Bible reading. |

Running a Bible MarathonA number of churches have run Bible Marathons, which tend to involve a number of people, reading the Bible, in public, from cover-to-cover. This section includes stories of other Bible Marathons, and practical advice as to how to run your own Bible Marathon. |
