A congregational hermeneutics course for leaders
Are you a church leader and looking to enrich Bible use within your congregations? Roehampton University are holding an evening class, ‘How do we read the Bible?’ Traditionally known as hermeneutics, this innovative course will equip you to analyse, evaluate and develop your own Bible use, as well as communicate good practice within your church.

Taught by experienced staff from Wycliffe Bible Translators, the Biblefresh Evening Classes cover important topics which will help in your own personal study of Scripture, as well as providing the fundamental skills for training others at all levels. Teaching takes place on one Wednesday evening per month for 10 months, with a summer break. Each hour long session starts at 19:30 with coffee, the formal sessions begin at 20:00. For more information, visit the website, and for individual dates, see please see our events calendar.
Throughout 2011 and into the summer of 2012, London School of Theology is hosting a series of study days. The whole event comprises a total of seventeen Saturdays spread through a year and a half. There are three mini-series within the whole scheme. It starts with seven sessions on the Old Testament throughout spring 2011. After the August break there are seven sessions on the New Testament. Finally, in Spring 2012 there are three sessions looking at the Bible itself. These study days are particularly suited for beginners to theological discussion and investigation. It will be a stimulating day of lectures, interaction and discussion.

With Dr David Firth
Do you want to learn to read the Bible Jesus read and in the language he read it? This week is an opportunity to begin that process as we explore how to understand the basics of reading Hebrew, looking at simple sentences and by the end of the week short passages from the Old Testament. We can't cover all there is to know in a week, but we can do enough to get you started on the lifelong journey of learning to read the Old Testament in its original language.
