6 years part-time
The BA in Theology can be obtained after four years of part-time study. Validated by the University of Cumbria.
An introduction to a number of basic methods to study the Bible in greater depth.
A deeper look at the Biblical foundation for mission around the world.
Learn biblical Greek in a semester (February - May) in a small class at Spurgeon's Email: Sarah Prior at s.prior@spurgeons.ac.uk
An introduction to the Hebrew alphabet, common Hebrew vocabulary and selection of key grammatical forms.
This module introduces the student to major topics in the history of Biblical interpretation; key issues in contemporary hermeneutics; case-studies of particular passages; and examples of Biblical interpretation from non-Western scholars.
Students are introduced to a variety of methods of engaging with a number of significant Biblical genres. In this module the student will be introduced to exegetical and interpretative methods, used for looking at the apocalyptic (Revelation), also they will explore its application to the contemporary world

Theology for Ministry
These one-day-a-week courses enable participants to gain a qualification in theology whilst also continuing with other work or ministry responsibilities. It is also possible to opt for a single module of your choice at the Certificate or Diploma level without having to register for the whole of the courses.

1 year part-time; Friday mornings
In this year long course, students take a journey into the heart of pastoral care from its biblical and theological roots to its practice in contemporary Christianity.

2 years part-time
The Higher Education Certificate in Theology can be obtained after two years of part-time study. Validated by the University of Cumbria.

1 year part-time daytime
Students come to BBC one day per week, sitting in on classes, worship, prayer and meal times, enjoying a day as part of a lively and diverse Christian community.

This Diploma provides training in expository preaching, with systematic theology and Bible Overview as a background. It is designed for Bible teachers and preachers. It takes place on one day per week (currently a Tuesday) during normal academic term time and lasts for two years. It will overlap with and supplement the present College Diploma in Theology course with an additional two sessions in the afternoon of one day per week.

4 years part-time
The Higher Education Diploma in Theology can be obtained after four years of part-time study. Validated by the University of Cumbria.

Undertaking doctoral research at London School of Theology provides you with the opportunity to be involved in research at the cutting edge of the theological disciplines. You will have the opportunity to furnish both the worldwide church and the academic community with expertise that will carry the best traditions of evangelical Christian scholarship into the next generation and enable you to teach at tertiary level.

Engage is an accessible, flexible and exciting training course, combining practical, innovative and theoretical youth work, providing opportunities for full-time, part-time and voluntary youth workers, to share good practice at group training days. The course comprises six units, each one with a teaching day (mainly held on Saturdays between September and June). There is a handbook and online learning resources to help learners complete each unit. Training days for Engage are available at venues around the country and can be attended in any order. An increasing number of partner agencies are also now using Engage as core to their youth work and volunteer training.
A course for leaders in the churches to equip them for their roles; contains several modules on the Bible which can be studied separately

FdA & BTh
The key aim of this course is for participants to become more reflective and thus effective in their Christian ministry, whatever form that takes. Being theologically reflective requires profound engagement with scripture - a habit that is developed throughout this course.
A look at the first few chapters of the Bible and exploration of the questions they raise.
Students are introduced to a variety of methods of engaging with a number of significant Biblical genres. In this module the student will be introduced to exegetical and interpretative methods, used for looking at the gospel of Mark, also they will explore its application to the contemporary world.
Discover how to use various Bible study methods to lead a small group Bible study. This module follows on from Bible Study Methods.

Various times available
Individuals may complete any individual module of study, through the University of Cumbria. In certain circumstances, credit can be claimed for further study.
This introductory module seeks to give an overview of the context, content and contemporary relevance of the books of the New Testament
Two terms
A course which introduces students to the riches and variety and powerful relevance of the OT and the NT - a level 1 course run over two terms each year, with a focus on the Pentateuch and the Gospels. It can be taken as a stand-alone course or as part of a CertHE (or higher) in Theology and Ministry. For further details look under 'Courses' at www.cranmerhall.com. Our Bible course is TM101 - we also offer introductory Greek and Hebrew classes.
CertHE Theology and Ministry
A course which introduces students to the riches and variety and powerful relevance of the OT and the NT - a level 1 course run over two terms each year, with a focus on the Pentateuch and the Gospels. It can be taken as a stand-alone course or as part of a CertHE (or higher) in Theology and Ministry.
A course for graduates in Theology; choice from a wide variety of modules many of which are on the Bible; classes on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays
A course for those who have a degree in another subject area; it is essential to have a good knowledge of the Bible and the Church; many biblical modules; classes on Wednesdays and/or Thursdays

Bible, Church and World
The overall ethos of this programme reflects the transforming nature of the Bible when interpreted well and applied to life. It will prepare you for contemporary mission to the world in diverse forms, church-based ministry or further academic study. The core module will demonstrate and engage hermeneutical tools for understanding the biblical text well, and applying it to life. It will highlight the nature of biblical wisdom, the way it has been understood, and its transforming effects in and through the life of the believer.

Like the MTh, the degree is aimed at those who have already completed formal theological training. For an MPhil you need to offer a careful and critical investigation and evaluation of an approved topic, and demonstrate an understanding of the research methods appropriate to your chosen field.

The degree is aimed at those who have already completed formal theological training - they might be theology graduates, ministers, missionaries, Religious Education teachers, or business people as well as potential PhD students. The MTh is a first research degree, combining training in research and writing skills. Candidates for this degree follow a programme of study approved by the Director of Research and write their thesis on an approved topic in one of the major theological disciplines.

Begin to master New Testament Greek through learning the main grammatical constructions, the most common vocabulary and the most common syntax.
An overview of the books of the Old Testament including the significance of their historical context and application of their message today.
A course for everybody; gain a Certificate of Higher Education in just two years; of all our courses this one has most biblical modules; profound interpretation combined with application
A course for everybody; get a Degree in six years; many biblical modules are included, each of which offers solid exegesis as well as application

For those who want to explore aspects of theology further, without taking a full degree, and of oour courses can be taken on an individual basis. Many courses specifically look at understanding the Bible, including introductions to the Old and New Testaments, Biblical languages 'The Bible and the Mission of God', 'The Bible and Ethics', and Preaching - to name but a few!
A deeper look at the Psalms, the issues they raise and their relation to life today.

These are weekly lectures which take place on a Monday evening on a wide range of biblical and Christian subjects. There are two sessions each evening with a short refreshment break in-between.

Bibletrack
An introduction to the Bible, this track aims to help you become familiar with its story, know its key themes and learn how to read it wisely in today's world. It covers such topics as: The story of the Bible, The different kinds of writing in the Bible, In depth introductions to some key book and some central Bible themes.

BA (Hons), DipHE and CertHE
LST has a vision to see Christian counsellors who are both theologically articulate and professionally trained. This need is met through our integrated theology and counselling programme, run in partnership with CWR. It's for people interested in training for pastoral ministry or mission with a strongly individual focus, and people interested in becoming professional Christian counsellors with a well-laid foundation in the Bible and theology.

BA (Hons), DipHE and CertHE
Worship is integral to the corporate and individual lives of those who love God and music has always been used as a creative means of expressing worship. This combined honours programme is the only one of its kind in Europe and combines a wide range of music styles and perspectives with core theological teaching. This inspiring and challenging programme is offered at Certificate, Diploma or Degree level. It was developed with the Music & Worship Foundation (MWF), and draws on its wide network of worship leaders and professional Christian musicians.
